Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu recently clarified that the tender for the construction of an expressway between the two largest cities of Antalya province will be held on June 26, 2023.
By the way, it will not be limited to the highway alone: the discussion on the construction of a railway along a parallel route, which has been quiet since the spring of 2022, has resumed again.
At the same time, a project has already been prepared for "stand-in" routes on the routes Tekirova-Kumludzha and Kash-Gembe, also in Antalya province. The 2805-meter-long Chayaras tunnels have just been put into operation.
The travel time on the Antalya-Mersin route has also been reduced to just 5 hours.
The development of the transport infrastructure of Antalya and the surrounding area is not limited to: the infusion of large sums on the face and in one of the local airports - Antalya. The second international airport of the province, Gazipasa, is also "gaining momentum".
