Making noise at home in Turkey has become expensive

An official decision has been published defining a fine for excessive noise in a residential area in the amount of 4,800 Turkish lira (TL). At the current exchange rate, this is almost 20 000 Russian rubles.

We are talking about an administrative fine, which is risked by the inhabitants of apartment buildings and tenants, including those who cause trouble to neighbors. Excessive noise in apartments or noises at inappropriate times violate the Law on Environmental Protection.

The update of the previous "letter of the law" came into force after publication in the Official Bulletin of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. In fact, this fine is not new: it has been recalculated, and adjusted for inflation after revaluation by the end of 2022, it will grow by 122.93%.

So, those living in Turkey, immigrants and "long-term tourists", including, should monitor the noise from air conditioners, do not run rattling washing machines and vacuum cleaners at night, do not play musical instruments at the same nights, etc.

Excessive household noises - including loud conversations - are also taken into account.

Earlier, the rules of the so-called "silent Turkey" were updated. Just recently it became known that disputes between neighbors - including about noise - will be the first to try to settle intermediaries.

Also, last summer it was reported that construction work will be stopped in Alanya at night so as not to interfere with the rest and enjoy the beach season for both numerous tourists and locals. However, according to insider information, taking into account the demand for housing in Alanya, construction here and there continued around the clock.
