The largest park in the country will open very soon

Minister of Environment, Urban Development and Climate Change Murat Kurum said that the largest park in Turkey will receive its first visitors very soon: only a few days remain before the completion of work on the national park on the territory of the former Ataturk airport, which thus received a "rebirth".

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take part in the ceremony.

In addition to the fact that the national park will become the largest in the state, it will also be the fifth largest on the planet: its area is millions of square meters, of which 70 000 meters is covered by indoor infrastructure.

Landscape works especially attract attention, as well as the equipment of the park - so that it is convenient for absolutely everyone: lovers of both active and passive recreation. There are bicycle and pedestrian paths, playgrounds for children, tennis courts, volleyball and basketball courts, a specially equipped area for skateboarding, even a sports youth complex. In addition, there is a library, a museum, exhibition halls, greenhouses and greenhouses.

And in the park, there is an artificial canal Ab-y Hayat Suyu with a length of as much as 2.5 kilometers, with a "private" coastal zone: picnic areas and observation decks.

Taking into account the colossal size of the park, there are 9 entrances in different places at once.

Well, in case of emergencies, a specially designated territory has been provided here, suitable for the placement of 40 000 tents, which can simultaneously accommodate up to 165 000 people.

At the time of planning work on the park, the designers stated that the new national park would become the "green lungs" of Istanbul. But the nuances regarding biodiversity - the flora of the park - have not yet been clarified in the media.
