How many apartments did foreigners buy in Turkey in July 2020? According to the official statistics released today, sales of real estate in Turkey to foreigners in July decreased by 34.6 percent compared to July 2019. In July 2020, foreign residents bought 2,741 objects in different cities of Turkey. Almost a half (1,046 objects) were purchased in Istanbul, 615 objects - in Antalya province, 230 objects in the capital, 101 objects - in Mersin and 88 objects - in Yalova.
The largest number of residential real estate in Turkey in July 2020 was bought by Iranian residents (540 apartments and houses). The second place was taken by the Iranians (388 apartments and houses), the third place - by the nationals of the Russian Federation (154 objects), the fourth place - by Afghans (149 apartments and houses), the fifth place - by the Germans (14 objects).
From January to July 2020, foreigners bought 17,300 apartments and houses in Turkey, which is 29.6 percent less than in the first seven months in 2019.
