Secondary real estate sales in Turkey rise 64 percent

In the third quarter of 2020, Turkish secondary home sales rose by 64 percent. This data was published in a joint report on the secondary property market made by the Internet real estate appraisal platform Endeksacom and the Turkish Real Estate Consultants Association (TÜGEM). According to the report for the third quarter of 2020, secondary home sales grew by 64 percent compared to the same period in 2019. The average price per square meter of resale property in Turkey rose to 2,643 TL (about €270), the average return on investment was 18 years and the average sale time for an apartment was fixed at 65 days.

In total, 375,073 secondary properties were sold in the third quarter of 2020. Compared to the second quarter of this year, resale property sales have grown by a record 94 percent. Secondary apartments and houses accounted for 70 percent of total property sales in Turkey.
