The winner of the tender for the next stage of the project at Istanbul Canal has been determined

A new phase of the project for almost a thousand residences (or rather, 925) will appear on the site directly adjacent to the Istanbul Canal being laid. That is, in an area where land is now getting more expensive especially quickly.

And at the end of November, the contractor of the fifth stage of the project near the Istanbul Canal decided: it will be Gürtaş Yapı.

The estimated volume of investments in the project is more than 1.1 billion Turkish liras (TL). In addition to almost a thousand residences, eight shops and a mosque are planned here.

The project will be the fifth stage of a large-scale complex, which will be located in the Baklaly quarter, Arnavutkey district (Istanbul).

The tender for the selection of the contractor by the Office of Mass Housing Construction (TOKI) and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change was held on November 25, 2022. Gürtaş Yapı won this tender, offering an amount of 1.143 million TL. Which will be spent not only on the buildings themselves, but also on the improvement of the surrounding area plus landscaping.

There are two more tenders ahead: In addition, it was announced that on December 5 TOKI will hold a tender for the project of 621 residential buildings and 10 shops in the Baklaly area, and on December 9 - for a project including 844 residential buildings, 10 shops and a mosque.

Earlier, the tender for the construction of the second stage, designed for 716 residences, was won by the construction company Yılkanur Inşaat.

Well, the cost of work on the Istanbul Canal itself has already grown to $20 billion.
