By rail, the Ankara-Sivas route will be reduced from 12 to 2 hours

Due to the new high-speed train route, the duration of travel from Ankara to Sivas and back will decrease from 12 to a little over two hours, Anadolu Ajansi writes. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismayiloglu said that a 99.67% readiness indicator has been achieved in infrastructure works on the new high-speed train line, namely Ankara-Sivas. It is planned to be put into operation in April 2023. 

 

This was announced by Adil Karaismayiloglu during the presentation of the ministry's budget for 2023. Recalling that for 20 years – since 2003 – a number of large and very important projects in the field of transport and communications have been implemented in Turkey; 1 trillion 653 billion 451 million Turkish liras (TL) have been invested here.

 

The Minister stressed that the agency is also considering alternative sources of financing, namely private investments. Specifying that a public-private partnership project worth 374.7 billion TL has already been launched, and that 83% of the specified amount has already been collected.
