The new average cost of housing in the three largest cities revealed

The average price per housing unit in Istanbul has exceeded 4 million TL, analysts say. According to Endeksa statistics, the annual increase in the cost of housing was 73% at the end of December in Istanbul. The average price per 1 sq. m in the largest metropolis of Turkey is 36,262 TL, and the average cost of one residential lot is 4,170,130 TL.

Housing prices in Ankara grew even more last year: by 102%. The average housing price in the capital is 2,570,100 TL, with a price per square metre of 19,770 TL.

Izmir has added 78% to last year's figure. The average selling price per square metre in the city at the end of the year is 30,039 TL, with an average cost per housing unit of 3,754,875 TL.

Moreover, the most expensive locations are other places. So, housing prices in 2023 in Hatay increased by 124% (for comparison, the average price per square metre here is 17,834 TL, with an average housing price of 2,764,270 TL). It is +107% in Elazığ. The average salling price per sq. m of residential real estate in the province is 11,918 TL, with an average housing price of 1,966,470 TL. Ordu ranks third with a 106% increase in the cost of housing. The average amount to be paid per square metre when buying a home is 20,005 TL, with an average lot price of 2,600,650 TL.
