Istanbul Municipality (IBB) has announced that the design and technical approval of the next new line of the Sefakei-Beylikduzu-Tuyap metro has finally been completed. Emlakkulisi writes about this with reference to the words of representatives of the department.
The new branch line will allow almost four million residents of the western part of the metropolis to gain access to the metro system.
Let's clarify that this "branch" of the metro has been waiting for since the early 2000s. There will be 10 stations on the Sefakey-Beylikduzu-Tyuyap line: Sefakey, Kyuchyukchekmedje, Reshitpasha, Avdzhylar Merkez, Jihangir, Saadetdere, Beylikduzu, Yildirim Beyazyt and Tyyap. Thanks to the new route, it will be easier to get to a number of business centers, exhibition complexes, as well as industrial enterprises.
The financing of this project was put on the agenda back in November last year; we are talking about foreign loans worth almost a billion dollars ($925,396,200), including VAT and insurance premium. During the recent - the third in a row on this occasion - meeting of the Assembly of the Municipality of Istanbul, the consent for this loan was received by the administration.
Earlier, the inhabitants of the largest Turkish metropolis learned about another good news: Galatasaray Island will be accessible to a wide range of people.
