Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag said that the limit on rent increases of 25% will be extended with the prolongation of long-term (one-year) contracts. In addition, the agencies will monitor violators even more closely, who are waiting for sanctions for excessive "appetites" in relation to rent.
Recall that the restriction on rent increases for housing was announced last summer in conditions of abnormal inflation, and was supposed to last a year. As July approached, this issue was increasingly being discussed both in the media and among the masses; its "fate" was in question for a long time, since the homeowners insisted that their interests were severely infringed. However, in the end, the authorities considered it reasonable to extend it, taking into account the economic situation in the country.
It is expected that this resolution, concerning millions of tenants and landlords, will allow to adjust the balance in the real estate sector in the future.
