The new Istanbul airport has once again become a record holder

Istanbul Airport "at the end" of 2022 again set another record, becoming the leader in Europe in terms of the number of flights received and dispatched. During the period from January to November, as it turned out, he provided "air hospitality" to almost four hundred thousand aircraft: 388,461. Of these, more than a hundred thousand turned out to be domestic (100,950), and 287,511 - international.

On average, in 24 hours, the New airport passed through more than 1,200 flights, to be more precise - 1206. In this respect, it was ahead of Amsterdam with 1,147 flights and even Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (1,120).

Above - the "top three"; in fourth place was the Frankfurt air hub (1054), in fifth - London Heathrow (1038).

Next are Madrid Airport (962 flights), and already by a much larger margin - Barcelona (781) and Munich (780).

Airports remain the "driving force" for the development of the region as a whole, and the area around the airport, in the sense of residential real estate that is located there. Thus, the Pendik-Sabiha Gokcen branch of the Istanbul metro contributed to the rise in the cost of residential real estate along its route. And Antalya Gazipasa Airport is expanding and improving with might and main, which can have a similar effect on the surrounding area.
