Real estate in Turkey: the main news of the past week – July 8-14

We tell you what interesting things the Turkish media wrote about the construction and real estate market in the country during the second week of July.

Intensive work on the restoration of a number of regions of the country affected by the earthquake with the epicenter in Kahramanmarash does not stop for a day. At the final stage of creation - 85% - a "temporary city" intended for victims: people who have nowhere to go will be settled in fairly comfortable container houses.

Capital housing for families from the provinces that survived these tremors continues to be built; almost a third of a million new residences are planned to be commissioned in a year. The authorities strongly encourage those who are ready, so to speak, to partially remove the burden of responsibility from the state and to build housing for their family themselves - if they own a land plot. Such households are promised significant financial support.

Otherwise, the market has come to life after the spring lull caused by the presidential election; more than 200,000 units of real estate (not only residential) were sold in June alone. The demand is so great, and there are so many transactions, that they decided to entrust the registration of the purchase and sale to notaries, giving them the appropriate powers. nevertheless, buyers are urged to be vigilant when choosing and registering real estate as a property.

Rent in the country, and especially in large cities, continues to grow by leaps and bounds: in Istanbul it is plus 700% in four years. Even despite the ban imposed in the summer of 2022 on tariff increases of more than 25% when extending a long-term contract. By the way, it was also decided to limit the increase of aidat.
