Real estate in Turkey: the main news of the past week – July 1-7

We present the next digest of news for the past week.

A list of measures to solve the problems of the rental market has been announced; it is clear that it is not complete - but this is at least the beginning. In particular, starting from September 2023, it is planned that the vast majority of disputes between the owner and the tenant will be resolved, firstly, with the help of intermediaries, and secondly - in a maximum of a month. And only if the actions of the mediator are not successful, the case can be referred to the court.

One of the key problems in this area is the lack of available rental lots, especially in Istanbul. Where at the same time a huge amount of housing is simply empty. Accordingly, prices are rising for the remaining ones.

At the same time, residential projects are starting one after another; perhaps the largest, among those announced over the past seven days, is a complex almost the size of a microdistrict, with almost 9,000 residential residences, which will appear in Northern Cyprus; moreover, it is already being completed.

Another of the interesting "novelties" is a complex of 150 villas in Istanbul, 400 in the resort of Cesme (Izmir province), 84 residences in neighboring Alaçatı.
