The Marmaray project, with which all new transport routes of the largest Turkish metropolis are gradually connecting, in fact contributed to the fact that Istanbul real estate in the Asian part of the city has become more in demand. Accordingly, the rent has risen significantly, and in a short time. So, the rates for renting housing in the Kadikoy and Pendik districts rose by 20% at once.
Istanbul has been the fastest growing metropolis in Turkey and Europe in recent years. The acceleration of the laying of metro and funicular lines, the creation of additional tunnels, tram lines, a new airport, universities opening one after another are the factors that, together with the nationwide urban transformation program, determine the «value map» of the real estate of the metropolis.
Kadikoy eventually became a «transport hub» not only of the Asian side, as before, but, in fact, of the European side of Istanbul too, due to the new metro lines now connecting with Marmaray and metrobus. In addition, the proximity to a number of universities has put Kadikoy in the «first place» in the field of interests of students who want to rent housing.
After Kadikey and Pendik, the rent went up in a matter of months:
in Bakhchelievler - by 15%;
in Atashehir – by 13%;
in Kucukchekmedzh – by 8%;
in Maltepe and Uskudar – by 7%.
Well, the transport infrastructure of Istanbul is really developing very intensively. Metro travel to Sabiha Gokcen Airport (on the Asian side) has already been opened, and it will be possible to get to the New Airport by metro no later than December. Just a few days ago, new ferry and funicular routes were added, and very soon it will be possible to pay for travel not only with travel cards, but also with bank cards.
