The Alibeyköy-Eminönü tram line, which is so necessary for Istanbul, will be completed in 2023. This was officially announced by the Mayor of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Ekrem Imamoglu. Who personally attended the ceremony of the start of work on the new section, which will extend the tram line between Alibeyköy and Jibali to Eminönü? The total length of the branch will eventually be 10.1 km.
Let's clarify that the project was corrected: some calculations were made incorrectly, and already at the stage of the start of work they had to stop and redo something, and several hundred meters of already laid rails had to be dismantled.
But now all the shortcomings have been eliminated.
In addition, they will rebuild one of the transport interchanges, «removing» something underground. As a result, the mayor of the city explained, another truly refined district will appear in Istanbul: Eminönü will turn into one of the most modern and beautiful squares in Istanbul, with impressive landscaped spaces.
