Metro line to Sabiha Gokcen Airport «raised» housing prices

The Pendik-Sabiha Gokcen branch of the Istanbul metro, finally put into operation in September 2022, contributed to the rise in the cost of residential real estate along its route.

Ihsan Chulkhalyk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Insay Yapı, confirmed that the demand for housing in the areas adjacent to the line has grown noticeably; in particular, within walking distance from the Insay Yapı project called "Pendik, 143" ("Ondörtüç Pendik"): for two and a half months of operation of this "branch", the company observes 20%- a significant increase in tariffs for both rental and purchase of residential real estate. The expert believes that the demand will increase even more in the near future.

In particular, the Pendik Tavşantepe metro station is located about 800 meters from Insay Yapı residential buildings; in general, there are four stations on this 7.5-kilometer metro line, and the daily capacity of the "branch" is impressive: 1.2 million passengers.

So, it may make sense for investors looking at Istanbul to pay attention to the mentioned area.

We have already reported earlier that housing prices have increased in a number of locations thanks to the Marmaray project. It is possible that real estate will also rise in price along the "branch" of the Bakyrkey-Kirazly metro, which is planned to open in 2023.
