Resorts complain about the owners of Russian yachts

«Saving» their property from sanctions, many owners of yachts and large boats with Russian citizenship took them out of European bays and «re-parked» in marinas at Turkish resorts.

As in the case of the influx of immigrants to Antalya province, this led to a sharp rise in the cost of rates but already for yacht seats.

According to the Hurriyet newspaper, the rental of berths on the Turkish sea coasts, in particular the Mediterranean, has actually tripled in size. The Hurriyet correspondent personally encountered this: if in 2021 the «parking» of his own boat (with an area of less than 10 sq.m) cost him 205,000 Turkish lira (TL), then in 2022 he was asked for 100,000 TL for the same place.

That is, the rental of a place has increased from 1,700 to 5,000 euros.

And just as in the case of foreign tenants who «displaced» the local population from apartments rented for years, the Turks are shown a similar approach in yacht marinas: they say, whoever has money, that's the place; and no one cares that the place has been unofficially «yours» for years.

Thus, the owners of the marinas inflated prices at will. And the rates for renting places for yachts and boats, unfortunately, do not fall under the rule of "permitted annual increase of no more than 25%". And sanctions for violation to the owners of the areas are not provided.
