The highest transport bridge-viaduct on the territory of the Republic of Turkey was erected in Konya province.
It was officially put into operation in the last days of November. The viaduct was named «Egeste Hatimi»; its length is 1.4 km, height is 166 meters, total width is 25 meters, four-lane traffic is organized.
Thanks to the opening of the viaduct, some routes will be reduced by more than 4 km, so that transport links between the north and south of the country (Inner Anatolia and the Mediterranean) will significantly improve.
At the same time, Turkey is actively developing a network of high-speed trains, new routes appear regularly. So, the way from Ankara to Sivas thanks to such a «branch» will be reduced from 12 to just two hours; this line is at a high stage of readiness.
The Ankara-Izmir line is also half-finished.
