The Electronic Concrete Monitoring System (EBIS), which was developed to electronically monitor the quality of construction by adding special chips to concrete, has been applied to almost half a million buildings, or in 432,797 buildings in Turkey.
The technology for controlling chips is developed by AselsanNET. In 2018, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change signed a protocol on plans to implement such a system in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense Industry.
So, Turkey is moving step by step closer to full control over the safety of buildings. The thing is that the quality of walls and ceilings can be checked by identification data — the characteristics of the concrete in each batch directly on the chip.
Software and hardware, together with a portable data scanning terminal, have been developed in line with modern "IoT" technologies and have been field-tested. In addition, AselsanNET has a data centre and a backup / disaster recovery center to store the data. There is also a call centre with 24-hour service.
So, this system is used to control the quality of building concrete. Each stage of sampling is monitored, including the origin of the concrete sample, the destination laboratory, and the conditions of storage prior to becoming a building wall. Moreover, you can request information.
Turk Estate reported earlier that the cost of construction in Turkey rose by 67% over the year. The cost of building materials is increasing monthly, with iron showing the most significant fluctuations in price.
