Pandemic increases demand for seaside homes in Istanbul

In Istanbul, during the coronavirus pandemic, the demand for residential real estate located on the shores of the Bosphorus has increased - luxury homes with gardens, which are one of the symbols of Istanbul. On both sides of the Bosphorus, the coastal zone of low-rise buildings hosts 600 mansions with gardens, 366 of which are historical buildings. During the coronavirus pandemic, the demand for rent and purchase of mansions has increased and the number of properties for sale has reached seventy (six have already found their buyers). Houses with a garden or a berth and docks for private yachts are in the greatest demand among buyers.

It has also been reported that during the pandemic, prices for mansions on the shores of the Bosphorus fell by 10-15 percent. Now the cost of a mansion on the Bosphorus ranges between $ 6 million and $ 85-90 million. A month of renting such a mansion costs from 12 to 25-27 thousand dollars, the cost of renting an apartment in a mansion costs from 3.5-4 to 7-7.5 thousand dollars. Mansions on the Bosphorus are in greatest demand among foreign tenants and buyers.
