The Chinese have set a kind of record for buying houses and apartments in Turkey. While earlier, until 2020, Chinese nationals were very rarely among the top twenty buyers of Turkish housing (the number of apartments purchased by the Chinese was calculated in only dozens per year), then in 2019-2020 the situation changed. In the first nine months in 2020, the Chinese bought 659 properties in Turkey.
According to the Anadolu news agency, the interest of Chinese investors in Turkey's real estate continues to grow dynamically. Many of them buy apartments in Turkey to get the "golden passport". Last year the Chinese bought 281 Turkish residential properties and were ranked the 16th in the top twenty apartment buyers in Turkey. It is worth noting that the first surge of interest was observed in 2015 when the Chinese bought 271 properties in Turkey and took the 18th place in the TOP-20 of foreign buyers.
Every year Chinese nationals invest over $50 billion in overseas properties.
