Another motorway has been opened in Turkey

President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan took part in the opening of the highway in the North Marmara region (Izmit-Akyaz), with a total length of almost four hundred kilometers - 398.4 km. There are 409 bridges, 10 tunnels and 69 viaducts on this distance. The commissioning of the new motorway is designed to facilitate and speed up access to the provinces "adjacent" to the province of Istanbul; and, of course, to reduce the traffic density on the roads.

The speed of development of transport infrastructure is impressive: since the current government came to power, the total length of high-speed highways has increased from 6,100 to 28,000 kilometers, the total length of tunnels - from 395 to 525 km. Over 18 years, financial investments in this area have amounted to more than $880 billion.

The YHT network of high-speed rail routes is developing rapidly; the Ankara-Izmir line is more than half ready, and the Ankara-Sivas line will be put into operation in the very near future. Also, in less than two decades, 30 more airports have been added to the already operating 24; and those that are open are periodically expanded and improved. In particular, this is Gazipasa Airport near Alanya and the air hub in Antalya.
