Speaking on August 19 at a meeting of mayors belonging to the ruling party, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke about how Turkish cities will look and function in the near future. According to the president, infrastructure and transport problems will be solved in all cities, and every city will have unique urban planning, which will take into account their history and character. It was said that residential areas of horizontal development will be created: green and maximally integrated into nature. Every resident will also have access to the Smart City application, which combines the latest information and communication technologies for life and city management. This will increase the level of comfort, efficiency and quality of service in all areas of life as well as reduce resource consumption and costs. Social projects will become the main priorities for city municipalities. All important decisions related to urban planning will be made by the authorities in cooperation with city residents.
