Experts name five criteria for safe housing in Turkey

The pandemic has changed the requirements of real estate buyers in Turkey: people began to give preference to houses with large balconies, with a garden, as close to nature as possible. How has the concept of a safe and comfortable home changed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic? Five criteria for a healthy home were listed by Kayhan Cavusoglu, commercial director of investment and construction company DAP Yap.

  1. Residential buildings in Turkey must be equipped with an elevator, however, the number of storeys must be such that residents can easily walk to their apartment on foot.
  2. Each apartment should have a terrace with access to the garden, or at least a room-sized balcony.
  3. Houses should be located next to or right in a green area.
  4. Apartments should have plenty of fresh air, projects should take into account free air circulation.

Buildings must be earthquake resistant.
