The Office of Mass Housing Construction (TOKI) with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, officially announced the launch of its two new projects in the Turkish capital, Ankara. Tenders to find a contractor for these projects will be held in February and March 2024.
One new residential complex from TOKI will appear in one of the central districts, Çankaya, in the Akpınar quarter. There will be 50 residences and 6 shops in the complex. The second project is planned to be commissioned in Etimesgut, Bahçekapı. It is more than twice as large: 119 apartments.
The Department continues to oversee the construction of other ongoing projects, including a large complex with over a thousand apartments.
It should be noted that TOKI projects are social housing focusing on the interests of low-income groups and their need for cheap apartments. Although housing prices in Ankara are lower than in Istanbul, they are still unaffordable for many people. For example, the cost of residences starts at 2 million TL in the sought-after Dikmen district.
