Most rental disputes will now be settled in a maximum of a month

Due to the introduction of a system of intermediaries that settle misunderstandings and misunderstandings between landlords and tenants, the vast majority of disputes will now be resolved within a maximum of a month, writes the real estate portal Emlakkulisi. It was previously decided a few months ago, and now it is final.

According to experts, about 80,000 rental disputes will be settled without recourse to the courts.

Recall that the official intermediaries in the rental segment will start working in exactly two months: from September 1, 2023.

Their participation in solving such issues will become mandatory. That is, only those problematic situations that the mentioned specialists could not settle will go to court - this has become a prerequisite for litigation in lease disputes.

Applications for mediation can be submitted free of charge at mediation offices in the premises of courthouses; thus, there are savings on attorney fees, court costs, witness fees, etc.

The time limit for proceedings involving intermediaries is three weeks; in extreme cases, it is allowed to extend it for another week, a total of a month.

Also, the mediation system will work in the segment of "everyday life" and conflicts between neighbors arising there. Recall that it has become expensive to make noise in a residential building right now: a fine for excessive noise is set at 4,800 Turkish lira (TL).

Some other measures to protect the rights of tenants have also been announced.
