Over half of Turkish residents live in their own apartments

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜIK) has published the results of research on income and living standards of Turkish nationals. According to the report, the proportion of people with their own housing is 58.8 percent in Turkey. Another 25.6 percent of residents live in a rented apartment and pay rent. The main problems of property owners and tenants in Turkey are heating and insulation problems, a leaking roof, damp walls, decayed window frames, air pollution and other environmental problems.
