Foreigners also complain about the rapid rise in housing prices; and they have begun to postpone making a decision about buying more and more often, Turkish media write.

In 2022, sales of residential real estate to citizens of other states increased in comparison with last year, but in many respects, it is necessary to thank Russians and citizens of Ukraine, to one degree or another fleeing from military operations or related circumstances. But Russians and Ukrainians bought housing mainly in resort areas, the peak of demand fell on Antalya province. And real estate experts are sure that if you subtract purchases of citizens of the Russian Federation and Ukraine, then home sales to foreigners will fall by 40%.

Recall that due to the high demand in the real estate market, the financial limit for buying in order to obtain citizenship under an accelerated procedure (bypassing a residence permit) was reduced from $1 million to $250,000. However, in the summer of 2022, it was increased again, to $400,000.

Recall that sales to investors from abroad in Turkey increased by 60% in 7 months.

And in Antalya, in addition to Russians and Ukrainians, Iranian citizens acquire the most residences.
