The start of construction of 5,000 social residences has been announced

Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum officially announced that on October 25, 2022, the foundation of 5,000 residences will be laid in 17 provinces at once, as part of the implementation of the largest social housing project in the history of Turkey.

The provinces are as follows: Ankara, Afyon, Amasya, Aydin, Bolu, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Erzurum, Kahramanmarash, Kirsehir, Konya, Manisa, Mugla, Tunceli, Ushak, Yozgat and Zonguldak. Projects of future houses have already been presented, including in the format of images on paper.

The cost of such social housing starts from 250,000 Turkish lira (TL), the monthly payment is slightly more than 2,200 TL for the 2+1 format and 3,100 TL for 3 +1; installments are offered for as long as 20 years (240 months).

All these houses will be built taking into account modern requirements: the buildings are planned to be energy efficient and safe for the climate, they will function as waste-free as possible.

Under this program, residences will be provided primarily to families with low and lower-middle income, but a little later a similar action will be organized for middle-income households.

The authorities are also paying attention to the construction of as many dormitories as possible, since there are still not enough beds for students in existing institutions.
