Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismayiloglu said that very soon the airport in the Asian part of the city – Sabiha Gokcen - will be «connected» to the Istanbul metro network.
Recently, Mr. Kara Ismail oglu personally conducted an inspection as part of a visit to the construction site on the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport line. At the same time, he clarified when the metro will reach Sabiha.
Recall that the construction of the section already being laid between Kyatkhane and Istanbul Airport in November 2022, and the extension of the Gayrettepe line in about six months: in total, the fragment of the Gayrettepe–Istanbul Airport route will be 37.5 km in length.
Also in September, it is planned to connect the Kadikoy-Kartal-Pendik line with Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
