The construction of 4,602 residential units for earthquake victims has been completed on the territory of Izmir province; the apartments have already been transferred to the ownership of their owners, the Emlakkulisi edition clarifies.
Recall that the earthquake with an epicenter in Kahramanmarash is not the only strong one in recent years. The authorities are eliminating the consequences of a number of natural disasters that occurred in several provinces in 2020-2022. Among them are Izmir and the same Duzje, where strong tremors were felt on November 23, 2022. In addition, construction work has been completed on 730 housing units in Giresun, affected by the flood; 1,265 lots in Kastamonu, Sinop and Bartyn, and 400 lots in Riza.
Well, Izmir itself, which was very badly shaken (magnitude 6.6 points) on October 30, 2020: a number of buildings also collapsed there, although there were no casualties.
In total, 5061 residences were planned in Izmir for victims of the disaster in October two years ago. 4,6 thousand, as we have already clarified, have been commissioned; several hundred remaining residences (459) they are being completed and will be put into operation in May.
By the end of March, tenders for Izmir projects from TOKI should also be completed: there will be three new complexes for a total of nine hundred apartments.
